Horny Devil is our interpretation of a Belgian-style Golden Ale. Brewed with authentic Belgian ingredients including candi sugar and a Trappist yeast strain, its fruity and spicy aromas include notes of orange, banana, and peppercorns. Coriander seeds add refreshing citrus notes which meld seamlessly with the beer’s delicate malt. Horny Devil finishes with a lively carbonation and a refreshingly dry finish.

750mL bottle, pours very cloudy golden yellow with a big white head. Aroma is extremely yeasty, with champagne-like effervescence and candied sugar. Flavour is quite complex and dense, with big champagne yeast, Belgian spices (coriander), light citrus, candied sugar, and lightly sour / acidic notes on the finish. Very good, but not one of AleSmith's best.

Bottle at Ørsted Ølbar & Cafe, Copenhagen April 2011. Slightly hazy amber with a large white head. I was not that impressed by this beer. Boozy and with too much taste of soap and spices like coriander.

Tap at the source (for a buck!) tasted side-by-side with its younger brother. Lil Devil. Golden color, large thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of bubblegum. Taste is sour orange and light spice. Very nice.

SÖF 25 year feast at Haket 2010-11-13 Göteborg - big bottle AP: golden yelllow, wee head AR: fruity, pineapple, papaya, mango F: sour fruitness, like the apricot cream I had when I was a wee boy. And that is lovely to spread on a chocolate cake and cover it with melted dark belgian choclated. Serve this with whiped cream mmmm

Compact red neck bottle shared with Knut Albert. Almost clear, golden-amber body. Bubbly ring around the rim of the glass. Fresh fruity aroma with spices beneath. Spices, banana, citric fruits and yeast in flavour – taste a bit like sweet white wine. Rounded ending. Silky texture. Nice, but in danger of getting too sweet (Olympen, Oslo, 06.08.2010).

Small white head. Paleish yellow body. Great fruity vinuous muscatel aroma with herbal notes. Dry-sweet vinuous grapey fruity taste wit oily wooden muscatel white wine notes. Light body. Mild mouthfeel. Dryish champagne and coriander aftertaste with floral mealy notes. Excellent, and dangerously drinkable. (0.75l bottle, Olympen, Oslo.)

Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a murky orange color with a huge foamy yellow head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was tart and tangy with strong notes of lemon, key lime, sugar and yeast. The flavor was tart with a strong presence of key lime, coriander, sugar, yeast, salt and margarita. The finish was long, tart and limey. Fairly full bodied. The alcohol is amazingly well hidden. Marvelous.

Bottle from a trade with phaleslu. Pours dark golden color with white head. Aromas of corriander and Belgian yeast. Flavor was alot different than I was expecting based on the aroma. Moderately sweet candy sugar flavor with corriander and bread dough. Interresting taste. Medium body with lively carbonation. Thanks Peter.
