Horny Devil is our interpretation of a Belgian-style Golden Ale. Brewed with authentic Belgian ingredients including candi sugar and a Trappist yeast strain, its fruity and spicy aromas include notes of orange, banana, and peppercorns. Coriander seeds add refreshing citrus notes which meld seamlessly with the beer’s delicate malt. Horny Devil finishes with a lively carbonation and a refreshingly dry finish.

750 ml capped bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Very nice spicy aroma of coriander and cloves, hints of honey, flowers and leather. The flavour is also spicy and relatively sweet, moderate hoppy and peppery notes in the finish. The alcohol is well hidden.

Golden with a medium lasting white head. Perfumed spicy and fruity aroma, with vineous and minerally alcohol that could remind you of champagne if it wasn’t for the obvious coriander. Dry and vineous complex flavour. Shows some light caramel, white grapes, licorice, fortified wine, and that over-powering coriander. Seems like a well crafted beer that I’d love to try un-spiced

75cl bottle. gusher. cloudy orange, small white head. spicy, a little soursh, yeasty. very belgian aroma. flavor is sweet, yellow fruity, faint spicy, flowery. very strong from the alc. way too boozy. Not unlike some of the similar belgian ones thogh. overall a nicely balanced quandrupel or something like that, the only thing that sticks out is the boozy flavor. It feels very strong and sharp.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, Feb 2010. Pours unclear orange with a small lasting egg white head and lacings. Aroma is yeast, fruit and a whiff of coriander. Flavor is warm and sweet. Coriander and herbs. Quite heavy. Smooth and full palate. Dry end.

Bottled. Deep goldeny orange colour with mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is spices, sweet malts, some slight yeast as well as mild alcohol. Flavour is quite much the same along with some slight spruce, grass and nettle. Warming alcohol all the way through.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a thick white head that lasts. Aroma has a nice combo of floral notes, some spices like coriander, a light caramel note and a bit of pine hops. Flavor is not as complex with a combo of spices, floral and caramel notes. The finish was nice and dry.

I dont know how Alesmith does it, but i think every beer they make it unbelievable, Ive never had a bad one and this is no different. big taste that is usual of alesmith, but not overbearing, the abv is a little high for me, but you dont really taste it. nice refreshing zest in the first taste and a champagne-like dryness that urges you to take another sip.

Appearance: Hazy golden-orange color
Flavor: Bready/yeasty and malty flavor, fruity sweetness, spice
Palate: A nice mouthfeel, medium-full body
Overall Impression: Really liked this one, tasted it back to back with its kid brother (the Lil Devil), and I liked it just a drop better. Very nice beer. Well-made (no surprise from AleSmith, as everything they make seems to be pretty well-made to me). Good stuff, great brewery.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu) Poured yellow and hazy with medium sized white head. Aroma was sweet, fruity and yeasty. Palate was medium bodied and sticky with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, honey, fruitiness, sweetness, light sourness, coriander, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was very sweet and lightly bitter. Flawless beer with interesting bits but too sweet for my taste.
