12oz bottle pours a translucent, deep brown with some thin, creamy, off white head. Nose is soured, some dried cherry, some red wine vinegar, some nettles, a little soured red grape. Flavor has a distinct tobacco leaf thing happening, sour notes, dried cherry, some cooked greens, a little rice wine vinegar. Full, sour finish. Bad. Way, way off.

Tap at CS taproom - dark ruby with a thick, sudsy head - aromas of wood, moderate acidity, dough, chocolate, mild oak - a little thin bodied - flavor is moderately acidic (acetic acid), which covers up the some of the other qualities of the beer (oak, chocolate, toffee) - the alcohol is in no way apparent, so kudos there - the sad thing is that the acidic character is far to strong and covers up the other compexities of the beer - this seems to be a fairly common problem for this brewer - infection - sometimes works in their favor - often times doesn’t.
