A spicy, higher alcohol beer that is meant to be enjoyed around that chilly time of year, but is also a great sipping beer for any occasion. Cinnamon and orange zest round out this spiced winter ale awarded a silver medal at the 2014 Florida Beer Championships. The name “Dunder and Blixem,” translates in Dutch to “Thunder and Lightning.” Keep and serve cold as hail!

Caramel and bitterroot.pours red with ok head. Bitter finish with some booze. A touch of peel, fig. Doesn't really taste much like a barley wine. That wouldn't be bad necessarily, but this is pretty thin. Tap at brewery.

Few cans at home. Nose is cinnamon and brandy. Murky but light brown pour. Tastes of brown sugar, light alcohol, plums, cinnamon, cherry. Thin bodied. Hides alcohol a bunch.

16 oz. can. 8.8 ABV. Pours a clear dark copper color with a small tight beige head and Decent retention. Spots of lacing. Light caramel malt nose. Surprisingly little flavor at all except for a late boozy finish. Very minimal spices. Disappointing.
