at Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel Roasted malts, cocoa powder, light bitterness, bit of dark fruits. Ok-ish. Bottom line: Lord Nelson brews pretty much all mediocre. Purchased at Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel

Pint on tap @ pub. Black as night, fruity cocoa nose. Flavour follows nose, finish is dry, zingy, fruity and bitter. A late touch of malt balances it all out. Gets better (and more bitter) as it warms.

Draught half pint at the brewpub on July 12, 2013.Described as a Dry Irish Stout at 5.5% ABV.Very dark brown to black color, dense light brown head, beautiful when it settles the head. Sweet, cocoa, roasted taste. Roasted aftertaste, also some liqourice. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness to the dry and mineral side. Sweet, malty scent. If they could only serve it less ice cold.
