The oatmeal stout is brewed with flaked oats, black and chocolate malts, and Perle hops. A medium to full bodied Stout that’s smooth with rich malt character and a roasty finish. Big, deep brown-black color and delicious!

12 oz. bottle purchased at Total Wine & Liquor in Colorado Springs, CO. Pours a pitch black color with a beige head and good retention. No lacing. Faint roasted aroma. Flavor of dark roast, licorice and creosote. Low carbonation, flat mouthfeel. Not a fan of the flavor. At least the 7.0% ABV is invisible.

Pours pitch black, small tannish head of foam, some lacing.
Light smell. Some mild bitterness from roasted malt and oats with a strange bit of sweetness.
Light oats and roasted malt but not as dry as I was hoping for. Again, it has a slight sweetness like that from a Milk Stout.
Carbonation is okay but the body is thin.
One pint and done.

Pour is a black with an average tan head. Aroma is chocolate with some roasted oats. Flavor is about the same a decent rosted malt’oat with some chocolate. My problem is that the flavor does not really stand out. The flavors are there but kinda weak and watery for the style.

16oz can poured into a smaller Cosendonk goblet. I will start by saying this brewery is pretty disappointing and this beer confirms that. Beer pours with an initially large head but that fades very quick. Aroma is mineral, lightly acidic, wet paper, and watered down roast. Flavor follows with very thin and moderately acidic old, cheap diner, day-old coffee with highlights of cigarette butts. Could not finish this or really just did not want to.

Dark brown color. Mildly sour, a bit of dark chocolate and oatmeal. The beer isn’t overly balanced. Not that interesting. A bit of plastic. Full bodied, but not overly enjoyable.

Bottle @ home., Deep brown appearance with a foamy, light brown head. Smells infected Oaty, dark malty, lightly nutty, lightly sour nose. Somewhat sour, pretty oaty, a touch of espresso, slightly nutty flavor. Is this why it was on clearance at Supermarket Liquor in Foco? (2.0/5). Update: tasted on tap at the tap room. No sign of infection this time but not something I would want to drink much of (2.6/5).

Bottle - pour is dar brown, almost black, with a thin, fizzy tan lace - aroma is equal parts bitter and sweet - baker’s chocolate, vanilla, cream, bitter black malts, roast/char - creamy mouthfeel, full carbonation - surprisingly dr for the style, with considerable roast, a hint of smoke, char and a moderate woodiness - some vanilla sweetness before the lingering finish of bitter chocolate - oat presence is strong on the end, adding a certain earthiness - pretty good, but a bit overly bitter.
