Sampled at GABF. Pours an opaque black with some beige head. Mostly coffee nose, some chocolate, toast, molasses, Folgers grounds. The chocolate comes through a lot more in the flavor, sweet, molasses, toast, coffee grounds. Full bodied, dry finish. Well balanced. Drinks like it’s 5%.

Tap @ Fort Collins Brewery. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the normal Double Chocolate, so I’m not overly optimistic on this one. Pours a black appearance with a light brown head. Actually a delicious, roasted but not burnt black coffee, thick cocoa, a touch herbal aroma. A touch grainy mouth feel. A bit acidic/fruity quality in the flavor from the coffee with additional notes of cocoa, milk, and roast. This one does seem a fair amount better than its sibling.
