Bottle from Village Vinters, Pyrford. The Export 4.7%, I note. Or is 4.7% standard now? Was surprised to see I'd never rated this before. Amd anothet bitter which marketing have rebounded as an Amber Ale. Aroma is malty with a berry tang. Clear brown. Thin foamy off-white head. Sour berries to the fore. Underlying bready malts and some woody bitterness. Tangy for sho'. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable enough ESB. I am sure I enjoy the cask version more.

Copper color, thin lasting foam, earthy and floral aroma. Leans way more bitter than malty. Has a dry, crisp hop bitterness with a little malt underneath. Missing some of the expected caramel sweetness.

My final purchase at a convenience store in London, a 500 ml bottle of London Pride. Pulling the cap and pouring into a semi-satisfactory room glass. The liquid is amber with a ring of totally white bubbles. The scent is biscuit with the potential of sweetness. I lift for a drink, grain, white bread, malt, a small bitterness, caramel and slightly astringent. Interesting.

Pours a clear copper/amber colour with a thin off-white head. Aromas of caramel and doughy bread. Taste has more caramel and bread with faint notes of both biscuits and floral. There’s a nice crisp earthy hop on the finish that is not at all harsh but smooth with a bittersweet end. Full body, low carbonation and a very smooth mouthfeel. Top quality ale.

Bottle, 4.7% abv. Poured pale amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, fruit, flowers. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Not as good as from cask.

16 oz. draft at Archie's Bar & Grill. Clear bronze color with a small khaki head and fair lacing. Very clean and smooth lager with a light caramel flavor. Malty, but not too sweet. Tastes like a mellow Oktoberfest beer. Really refreshing and easy drinking. No bitterness.
