2016 catch up - bottle at home - A solid English bitter and that is a complement. A good flavour of malt, some bitter hops and not too fizzy. I had forgotten how good this beer is.

Dark copper colour, still transparent. Small to average head, not very good retention but some lacing. Aroma of biscuity/toffee/slightly toasted malts with subtle fruitiness and maybe the faintest herbal hint. Decently vivid and very clean. Taste follows the aroma with average sweetness and light to medium bitterness. Finish is slightly on the bitter side with a note of leafy, tea like bitterness. Light to medium body, almost flat, goes down very easy. Overall enjoable and averagely good, but fails to impress.

0.5 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja. Clear golden, diminishing off-white head. Some hoppy aroma, also off-flavors. Acetaldehyde if I can tell. Buttery taste, hops still present, grassy. Kinda flat. Soft carbonation, medium body, light malty finish. Not really good.

Tumma ,kuparinruskea ja kirkas olut, väri täyteläinen. Vaahtoa reilusti, mutta katoaa nopeasti. Hieman katkera mutta toffeinen maku. "Karvas" jälkimaku jää pitkäksi aikaa. Perus bittermäinen olut. Ei oma suosikki.

Bottle stamped best by 10/14/2016 into a tulip. A: Poured a finger of yellow-beige head that fell fairly quickly to the surface where it clung for a while.. Crystal clear tea color S: Herbal hops and alcohol dominate the smell. Faint fruit and brown bread. T: Dry earthy malt flavors with a hint of tart citrus. Faint roast. M: Very light and prickly with a clean but warm finish. O: Haven’t had this in so many years I didn’t know if I’d still like it. Verdict: The nostalgia was nice and the beer is good but I can now pass this by. Good though to find a fairly fresh 4-pack.
