First brewed in 1959 London Pride is a smooth and astonishingly complex beer, which has a distinctive malty base complemented by a rich balance of well developed hop flavours from the Target, Challenger and Northdown varieties in the brew.

Rated from old notes. Very caramel taste. Reminded me of butterscotch. Somewhat subtle tastes can get lost if paired with food, especially spicy food. Savor it alone.

Can and bottle. Clear deep golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, nuts, marmalade and caramel. Flavour of orange, earth, tea and brown bread. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Delicate and well balanced. I’d like to try this on cask.

Bottle at Piccadilly, Bod�. The color is clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, leather. dried fruit and diacetyl. The flavor has more leather, toffee, hops and grass. Has a slick mouth feel, light to medium body, and a light bitterness. A solid classic. Well-balanced.

500ml bottle (UK, 4.7%, but not the export version Ratebeer seems to think this is). Clear amber brown colour with a small off-white head. Sweet, malt and hops aroma. Fruity malt flavour with a mildly bitter finish.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 11B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 146 14:23P AROMA: slightly bready with toasty notes. some fruitness. overall slight sweet malty background. APPEARANCE: pale ambar color and translucent. low and slight ivory head with average retention. TASTE: overall bready flavour with some fruity notes (orange) and an overall slight malty sweet background. medium-low bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-light body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a traditional best bitter more balanced towards malt.

On tap at Gollem Amstelstraat. Clear, pale golden amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey and biscuits. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, honey and biscuits. Short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite malty, not very intense. Okay, expected more of that classic.

Couldn’t possibly imagine the complexity of this one, as I was kind of preoccupied because of other Fuller’s ales I had in the past. But I underestimated it. Pours clear golden to amber, with large diminishing off-white head. Very balanced, cookie and toasted grain malts, light presence of hops, lively carbonation, medium body, thin texture, bitter-dry finish. Needs some time to reveal its true character. Michael Jackson can’t be wrong, so I’m happy to have drank one of his 500 classic brews. Thumbs up!

Pours amber, bit of foam. Aroma is sweet malty character but also some herbal hops. Tastes a bit sweetish, some.herbs and bettering hops. Something more.artificial there as well although Fullers is normally quite solid brewery and this one drinks nicely as well. I guess this one from tap is coming a bit too warm, drinks well though.

Dorada tostada, dos dedos de espuma. Marcado aroma a canela. En boca entra muy muy bien, muy ligera y con baja carbonatacion. Sabor a malta tostada, poco acentuado. Agradable postgusto. Rica pero le falta caracter, algo aguada.

Bottle at Hethrow, 6/3/15. Clear orange color with minimal head/lace. Aroma is light and malty, clean, some fruity hints and a bit of earthy hop. The flavor is clean and malt leaning, not overly sweet, with a light, clean biterness to the finish. Very clean an easy drinking. Petty solid overall. Right on for what you'd want in this type of beer.
