The Weiss beer is a traditional German unfiltered wheat beer. It contains 50% wheat malt and is hopped with Brewer’s Gold and Hallertauer hops. This beer has notable clove and banana esters which is a characteristic of this particular yeast strain, which we procured from the Hans Hopf brewery in Meisbock, Germany.

Hazy golden colour with absolutely no head. Served with a lemon alongside; very yeastie aroma with a bit of banana thrown in. Wheatie taste, with fairly good banana and clove tastes. Breadie aftertaste with noticeable sweetness and a banana-y taste. Somewhat like a 'mini-tripel'. Overall, better than the average unfiltered wheat, and especially good for an American! One of my favourites from my trip to the brewpub! I had this on tap at the brewpub in Denver, Colorado on 12-August-2003.
