(750ml spring 2015 bottle from Systembolaget) Pours a clear medium gold with a large fluffy white head that lingers with lace. No surprise, nose leads with heaps of freshly torn basil leaves, almost medicinal herbal tincture notes, musty basement and wood, mulch with sulphurous hints, and just a bit of lime like a wedge was dropped in. Palate of fresh basil leaves in lime juice, a bit of citrus peel, lactic acidity is fairly light though. Some fairly light white bread to the malt. Wood character is quite bright and not powerful. There is a little damp basement funk. Still mostly about the basil. Finish is slight lactic citrus pucker, moderately bitter basil and drying wood. Palate is fairly light with high effervescent carb. Not as much like pesto made into a drink as I feared, not crazy drinkable but not the opposite either. Definitely a different lambic though, herbal and grassy.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell 10/9/2015. Many thanks to Paul for this one. Aroma is spicy veg, chive, tart, lacto, acid sour, little pesto. Honey golden yellow coloured pour with a lasting thin white head . Flavour is composed of peppercorn basil pesto chive, pretty clean tangy lacto acid. Lingering veg, peppercorn. Palate is spicy spritzy carbonation, drying finish .

Bottle shared during the RBScSG2015. Pours hazy yellow with a frothy white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is herbal and funky with sourdough crackers, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, freshly cut basil, ripe cheese, minerals, barnyard and lemon zest. Taste is sour, herbal and funky. Mouthfeel is sparkling, dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is sour ith sourdough crackers, lemon juice, pesto, minerals, barnyard, leather and lemon zest. Really cool pesto lambic which I guess I actually like. Fairly simple and to the point.

Bottle. Little Leeds Beer House. Pale gold. Light haze. Thin, dense, lasting, white head. Nose is floral, grassy and herbal. The basil comes across like basil that is old, and has started with that aniseed and dill thing that it gets. Taste has a light sourness. Pretty tangy, with minimal sweetness. Foamy carbonation. Stays clean and crisp. Finishes light, herby bitter, with a tangy, sour close. Not a lot of depth to it. Boring, frankly.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co, Clekenwell - London. Many thanks to Paul. Pours lightly hazy gold with a tight, creamy head. Big green herb aroma, with accents of grass, light funk and lemon rind. Light sweet flavor with rich basil character, some pesto, mellow funk, grass, wood, lemon. Light to medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Pretty clean on the finish, with light acidity, more lemon, basil. Good for what it is.
