With accents of fresh orange, this refreshing, light pale ale is clean and smooth. A subtle hint of coriander enhances the crisp finish.

Part of a seasonal voyage platter at the Heartland Brewery and Chophouse, 43rd St, NYC. Pours clear amber with a small lasting white head. Very light aroma of orange, and hop. Light sweetness and bitterness. Thin body, above average carbonation. Drinkable but least favorite of the beers on the platter.

On tap at Heartland, Empire State, NYC. A clear, golden beer with a dense, off-white head. The aroma is butterscotchy, on the corn-ish side, with some pear and generic fruityness in the back. There’s much less diacetyl in the flavor, it’s fruity and with a decent bitterness. Medium body, quite dry on the palate. Lasting bitter finish. Sort of refreshing this one, but not very good anyway. The orange blossoms and coriander weren’t detected. 150624

Tap at Heartland, Union Square NYC, 24/11/13. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bread dough, citrus, light spice, straw, mango, peach. Taste comprises orange, corriander, light spice, touch of caramel, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy finale with a little bitterness. Ok low ABV affair, ticked - no need to revisit.

27.06.2013, tap @ Heartland Brewery & Rotisserie NY:
Nice creamy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish fruity, light malts, winegum, sour hops, grass, some dried fruits. Taste is slightly dry, light malts, hay, wet grass, wet grain, hints of cardboard. Little bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Couldn’t be more boring!

Taken at the ESB location on 18th Jan 2013: God it was cold outside! Inside it was warm and welcoming. The beer is pale yellow, almost golden, the bright winter sun giving it a true shine as it burst through the window. A white, thin head sat on top. Citrus lead in the nose and taste: more grapefruit and lemon than orange. Body wise it was OK, could have done with a bit more depth maybe. My first beer in New York (they got better).
