330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, ochre-ish brown head. Chocolately and slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of espresso, hints of molasses, treacle, a touch of cocoa, some liquorice spiciness, relatively cautious, resinous hoppy overtones with hints of grapefruit. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, chocolately, notes of espresso and mocha, a touch of treacle and liquorice, citrusy fruity hoppy notes of orange, mandarine and grapefruit; oily texture, soft and smooth palate. Very chocolately, malt accentuated Black IPA. Yummy!

22/08/2015 – sample (bottle) @ Gents Bierfestival shared with JorisPPattyn, Sebletitje, 77ships & PriorL Dark brown with beige head. Roast, coffee, hops bitter, some sweetness. Not bad, but far from the best one I already had

Draft @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Dark brown colour, very nice layer of beige foam. Medium carbonation. Lots of roasted malts, coffee with bitter grassy hoppy finish. Full body but easy drinkable. Very good BIPA!

(Thx! for sharing) Sampled draft @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Tasted pretty much the same as “Eem / Pampus Dark Hops” to me. Dark brown / black, dark mocha head. Nose is sweetish, bitter roast, candy, sugar, sweetness dominates a bit too much for the style in my opinion. Taste is herbal bitter, light licorice, plenty of candy, sugar & malt sweetness. Body is a bit syrupy. Decent but I would expect more hops from this style & less sweetness. Okay ‘though for sure. Earlier Rating: 8/23/2015 Total Score: 3.7(Thx! for sharing) Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Dark brown, thick mocha head. Nose is bitter roast, sweetness dominates here, some sugar & candy, weaker hops than expected. Taste is herbal with some roast, sugar, some grape, licorice, lightly herbal, creamy,… Decent but little hops for a BIPA. Expected a bit more here to be honest.

Dutch BIPA with creamy, stable, light yellowish beige head and very dark burgundy colour bordering on black. Lovely, fragrant aroma of pine resin, coffee, grapefruit, walnut, baker’s chocolate, toasted bread, orange peel. Dried fruits in the mouth, blue plum, very nutty and caramelly, smooth, with a chocolatey edge; roasted bitterishness comes in the end and lends a juicy malt quality to the finish, expectedly paired with an aromatic, peppery, piney and citrus-peel like hop bitterness lasting quite long. This finds itself on the maltier side of the style, but it has complexity, balance and elegance galore - I love BIPAs and this is probably the best Dutch one I had so far.

A black beer, a head is small and brown. Aroma has coffee and chocolate, some pine and fruits. Taste has coffee and roastiness, liqurice, the hops are more noticable and in the aroma and the bitterness is at least medium, pine. Long and hoppy end. Medium bodied, low carbonation. OK, good bitterness.

Tap at Arend’s Nest. Shiny, pitch black, tall, fine, tan head. Rich, powerful nose of chocolate, licorice, coffee, cream, pine, orange. Sweet, dark chocolate, orange, little roasty, very bitter finish. Touch harsh, but overall very nce.

330 ml bottle bought at Amsterdam about a year ago.
Black body, with a big, frothy, rocky, lacing, dark beige head.
Aroma of nuts, cocoa, dark chocolate, some coffee, earth, some smoke, some dark fruits, subtle citrus.
Taste follows this, with some more bitter, resinous and grapefruit like hop notes.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes roasty-bitter, quite dry, zesty, a bit wooden, with cocoa, coffee.
Very nice. Still quite a lot of hops noticable after a year. The dark malts are well balanced and pretty manifold. Overall an enjoyable BIPA with quite a lot of character.

330ml bottle at home shared by Saeglopur, many thanks. BB "end 2016". almost a gusher. dark brown color, a lot more head than more of coffee-color. smells malty roast, smoked, some spices, reminds me of BBQ, light peat notes, some leather, soap, herbs. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of ash, peat, spices, malty roast, bitter chocolate, lightly creamy, light herbs. finishes with malty roast and some ash and peat notes. Interesting one, not so many hop notes left, overall (especially no the taste) quite a lot of roast / ash / peat notes. I like it though.
