Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm. Hazy reddish brown, airy head. Citric leathery nose. Dry with fairly light body and crisp, though almost overcarbonated, mouthfeel. Citric minty hops with increading late bitterness. Not as soft as most Närke beer and with a minor underlying citricity, possibly due to serving conditions.

Draught at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen
Dark brown color; big creamy head. The aroma is mild, chocolatey, with light sourness. Medium body, dry caramel flavor, chocolate, light astringency, light vegetables. In the final there is more roasted malt, and it’s quite dry. Confused, not impressive.

Draft. A chestnut colored beer with a huge lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and light notes of spices, but also an edge of acidity, that I don’t think is supposed to be there. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, bread, and spices, leading to a dry finish where notes of spices and brown sugar lingers. The body is thin. Närke can du so much better than this.

From tap at Den tatoverede Enke. Pours cloudy yet golden hazzlenut brown with a smll tan and dense head. Fruity, yeasty and mild acidic berry aroma. Flavour is quite fruity yet with a light spice touch and somewhat roasted malty. Doesnt let go of the light acidic touch I cannot make out if it is intentional, I find it distracting. Phenolic and fruity into the finish and from the back of the nose.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 2 Feb 2009) Dark reddish brown colour with rocky, beige head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of dark fruit, chocolate, earthy hops and hints of rubber. Malty, fruity taste with chocolate, dark fruit and balanced doses of earthy hops in the finish. Medium body, fairly sweet. Another nice and tasty Swedish hop experiment. Keep ’em coming.
