Draft. An amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and bread. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of bread, medium notes of caramel, and light notes of alcohol.

Draught at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg. On January 16, 2009. Clear dark red color, fluffy cream-colored head. Clean malty scent. Fruity, sweet, malty, grainy, alcohol, bitter taste. Medium mouthfeel. Medium high, dry grainy bitterness. Also dried fruits. Difficult at times to decide whether I like it or not, but I think it’s quite OK at least.

From tap at Bishops Arms. Pours dark brown with a little orange glare and a diminished off-white head. Sweet caramel malty and light fruity. Flavour is mild fruity with a acidic touch from what seems to be an infection. Slight mouldy and fruity into the finish. Somewhat perfumed hoppy and mild spiced finish.

(On tap) Clear, warm, dark amber with an off-white head. Very clean aroma of roasted malt. Quite full-bodied with a solid base of roasted malts, a little pumpernickel and a dry lightly bitter finish. Classical Dunkler Bock albeit a bit mainstream. 190908

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm) Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with hints of caramel. Malty, slightly roasted taste with caramel, nuts, dark fruit and a rather bitter-sweet finish with a slight bite. Medium body. A decent shot at the style.

Draught at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Clear brownish amber, small head. Grassy, almost lactic nose. Feels dry and almost full bodied at first. There’s notes of butter, tart lingonberries and suprising aniseed. The sweet malt comes through the somewhat tart, salty curtains, making it ambigous - almost schizophrenic. Finishes with salt and balanced bitterness. As we’re severely lacking Swedish microbrewed bock beers it’s a more than welcome addition to the local beer scene - it’s just that I can’t really get a grip on it.
