Bottle. Chocolate coffee malt aroma - like walking into a great coffee shop. Opaque black-brown color with large tan head. Bitter burnt coffee and dark chocolate malt flavor. Okay - but unfortunately the flavor doesn’t quite live up to the expectations of the aroma.

Black with a large tan head. Coffee, roasted malts, some molasses, with light cocoa. Body is a little over carbonated. Flavor is roasted, light coffee, a little molasses, some cocoa. Dry, chalky finish. Not a bad brew, but kinda boring and something does seem a little off. It’s OK, though.

Sampledat the Hopsnobbery Collective Stout tasting on 01/16/09. This brew pours brownish black with a medium thin and fizzy beige head that burns away quickly. Latticework lacing. Milk chocolate and mild coffee in the nose. Thin body for a Stout and sort of creamy, with flavors of roasted coffee and malt. Just a touch of hops as well. The finish is short and roasty with a mild coffee aftertaste. Just average overall.

Bottle at the Rover. (5.2%) A dark, dark brown beer with a small, minimal actually, tan head. Burnt malt, coffee grit and chocolate in the aroma. Dryish. Burnt malt flavor with coffee and chocolate. Long coffee-bitter finish. Dry, full-bodied mouthfeel. The beer is maybe a bit one-dimentional, but especially for a 5.5% ABV beer, it’s really good. (080710)

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is all things coffee. Some dark chocolate seep though but coffee takes over. Flavor is burnt coffee with some roasted nuts and chocolate. If this brewer was going for a "coffee-breakfast" stout they were spot on. A good stout for coffee lovers but those not a fan of the morning bean may be turned off by the strong coffee aspects.

This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with only a trace of a tan head that faded quickly. The aroma was very strong roasty and toasty malts with a smoky undertone. The body is thin. The flavor is very smoky and roasty and dry. There is a hint of coffee and a strong smoky finish. Definitely not my style.
