Keg at the brewpub, 20/07/15, listed as ’Spezial’ but most definately a dunkelweizen. Murky Kidsgrove canal coloured orange amber with a decent off white cap that retains well. Nose is yeast esters, spice, bitter orange, malty, caramel. Taste comprises clove, caramel, bitter orange, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent earthy D-Weiss.

Beer No. 47 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub. Murky orange coloured, medium sized white head, fruity nose with touch of spices. Light acidic yeasty, fruity and mild wheaty with touch of caramel. Hint of cloves in the finish and aftertaste. Nice weizen.

(6/18/08) Draught at the brewpub in Berlin. Cloudy orange with a big white head that disappears very quick. Aroma of banana, spices and a bit of caramel. Sweet wheat flavor with banana, mild spiciness, caramel hints. Medium-bodied. Tastes like halfway between a Hefeweizen and a Dunkelweizen. Pretty good anyway.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy to murky deep orange/brown with a crispy yet chalk white head. Roasted aroma and solid banana fruity and wheaty too. Flavour is mild orange fruity and followed by banana/bubblegum esters. Mild spiced and malty too. Ends dry and fruity with a mild bitterness and a light acidic touch.

(Draught at the brewpub)On June 6, 2008Cloudy dark orange brown color, fluffy tan head. Fresh sweet malty scent. Sweet malty and spicy taste, also estery banana, even more so in the aftertaste. Medium to spritzy mouthfeel, low to medium bitterness. Nice and refreshing.

Draught as Weizen. Weak spicy aroma. Cloudy, dark orange colour. Small white head. Bitter flavour, a bit like unfiltered Helles. I do not get a wheat beer mouthfeel either. Weak banana aftertaste. Not a typical Weizen IMO.
