A golden malty 'Tripel' with a well-balanced bitterness and fruity aftertaste. Diverse flavours come together in harmony. Fresh dry to slightly sweet with subtle notes of coriander. The scent of yellow fruit and delicate bitterness determine the definition of this original tripel.

Cloudy yellow, white head vanishes quickly, almost no lacing. Yeasty and fruity aroma with citrus, coriander, dough, alcohol. Taste light sweet, medium bitter, fruity and spicy undertones. Medium body, creamy, dry bitter and toasted finish with touch of sourness, very nice.

Very malty and grainy tripel. Has a hint of saltiness, which makes it taste like the sea.

Bottle at Huppel the Pub, Den Haag. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast and wheaty. The flavour is medium bitter, alcoholic, but rather smooth and lacking liqourice considering the ABV. Probably one of the smoothest and nicest Tripel’s I’ve had.

Sunday 16 Dec 2012: Antwerp Gollem. 33cl glass from the tap. Golden yellow body, almost clear, on top a white, full head. Mild citrus feel to the aroma, some yeast and semi-sweet maltiness added to the smells. The taste was biscuit malty with a hint of citrus fruit filling. Not as exciting as I hoped for: not bland, but not far off. Hid the alcohol well enough, so there must have been something flavoursome in there! Not a great start to my evenings drinking, but it did make the next beer taste great (a John Martin Diabolici).
