(Bottle) Dark brown colour with ruby hints. Huge, foamy pale brown head, leaving lots of lacing. Malty, grainy, roasted nose with notes of ryvita, fudge and a hint of citrus (orange?). Malty, roasted taste with notes of ryvita, toffee, chocolate and hints of orange in the (rather short) finish. Medium body, medium bitterness, balanced sweetness. An ok, fairly standard Swedish christmas brew.

(50 cl bottle from Swedish Systembolaget) Odd grainy scent, sweet and some spices. Red brown color, tan head but not very lasting. Fudge dry also a bit chololate taste. Dry roasted aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel and rather high co2. Low but existing bitterness.

A red beer with a thin lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet with notes of caramel combined with notes of burnt malt, leading to a dry end, that also has a hint of acidity.

Bottled. Dark ruby colour, small beige head. Aroma is weak plum, metal and malts. Flavour is weak plum with some sweet malts, caramel and hops. Lots of roasted hints too. Aftertaste roasted, sweet, but also some hoppy bitterness and dryness.

Bottled (BB 03/2006)
Dark ruby, small vanishing tan head. Malty, a bit roasted and metallic aroma. Roasted and chocolaty flavor but quite watery. Sweetness and roast in the aftertaste.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pretty dark colour with a tint of red. Lovely creamy, dense head. Very classical Swedish Christmas beer with lots of sweet malt and a solid body. A solid bitter finish to round things of. 060102

Amber color. Sweet malt and caramel aroma. Nor surprising, but more balanced than other Julöl(s), without an exaggerated caramel character, with a final almost dry and correctly bitter.

Dark amber. Medium head. Light, roasty malt aroma. Roasted malt flavour with a hint of liquorice and plums. Drinkable but not outstanding.
