Pirate bomb is our beer Prairie Bomb! aged in rum casks. The flavor from the casks helps impart more vanilla and coconut flavors to the beer while helping to add more body and smoothness to the already explosive and expressive flavors of Bomb!

Bottle purchased at the Hoppy imp. in Greece, aged over a year and consumed in Kosovo. Pours burnt coffee bean (practically black with a dark brown highlight), no foam. Nose: totally coffee brandy, caffè borghetti, eggnog, a bit syrupy. Quite harmonious. Mouth: very soft carbo, some cherries, under spirit fruit, mocha, roasted (burnt) grains. The finish is a bit peppery and surprisingly dry (chili pepper rather than pepper). A very nice brew and I think aging made the difference.

Bottle at Black night 10/2015. Aroma first impression pineapple. Then it turns to peppery and rich dark malts. Oily texture, pitch colour. Taste is simply great. Complex and rich malty flavours, caramel, toffee, toasted, chocolate milk and dark. Very intense. Also bold chilli hotness, appearing in the middle and lasting into a long roasted chilli moreish finish. True jewel.

355 ml bottle shared by Werckmeister at RB Tasting Linz thanks a lot!
Black body, with a small, dense, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of espresso, dry cocoa, wood, some liquorice, some spices.
Tastes of espresso, chili, dark chocolate, wood, some liquorice, dry cocoa.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes hot from the chili, dry, roasty, with coffee, cocoa, liquorice.

Tasty. The nose is really lovely, while the taste has a bit too much hot chili for my liking. Would be amazing with less chili, because of the lovely espresso and dry dark malt notes. Overall not among my favourite Imperial Stouts, but unique and complex nonetheless.

355ml bottle at Austrian RB Meeting in Linz shared by me from trade with Nische, many thanks. No obvious BB date. smells of stinging nettle, roasty malt, chili, alcohol, bitter chocolate, herbs, liqueurish. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes malty roasty, chocolate, coffee, lightly sour, light chili spiciness, ash, some herbal notes, some alcohol, a bit medical. finishes with alcohol, light chili spiciness, malty roast and bitter chocolate / medical notes. nice, rather complex, unique, but not totally my thing. would drink again though.

Bottle @ Saturday night tasting - The Stein & Vine.

Growler. Opaque black with a frothy tan head, rapidly diminishing. Big malt-forward aroma of roasted grain, char, coffee, chocolate, chili, smoke, alcohol, vanilla. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/syrupy texture, moderate carbonation. Hot alcohol and hot chili pepper make this hot, though not hot enough to be drain pour. Besides the heat, there is taste of coffee, vanilla and chocolate.
