(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 16 Oct 2019) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, pine needles and peaches. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, peaches, candied pineapple and a balanced citric bitterness. More than medium body, quite sweet. On the sweet side, but tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.

Fat på Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Bryssel. Guldig, klar med vit krona. Citrus, kakiga toner, sötma, persika. Mjuk kropp, snäll beska. Enkelt men gott.

Collab of Nanobrasserie de l’Ermitage with a new Walloon microbrewery called Misery, intended as a West Coast IPA. From tap at l’Ermitage in Anderlecht. Snow white, irregular, frothy, thick and stable head, near-clear apricot blonde robe. Aroma of moldy orange peel, frying olive oil, dried mango, sweet red onions, lychee, bread pulp. Cleanly fruity onset, hints of dried apricot, dried mango and lychee, in any case fruitier than would be the case in a classic West Coast IPA; medium carb, soft body, doughy malt ‘soil’ soaked in aromatic hoppiness reminiscent of mango, mandarin peel, lychee and a faint touch of green onion, ending bitter but only gently so, with the alcohol remaining well hidden. High quality IPA, that much is certain, but obviously too soft and fruity – so not bitter enough – for a West Coast IPA. Nevertheless motivating enough to find out more about this mysterious Misery brewery…
