Important :
This vintage is bottled with a necklabel with multiple pages, where the stamp around the R-brand is made up by some kind of wax, much thicker than it feels like on the 2013 and 2014 vintages. Best by date ( on the bottom of the bottle ) is 2015.
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume.

Pulled a bottle from the back of the cellar at Xmas Eve. Pours a clear deep dark red colour and a pinkish head with little retention. Aroma's of cherries & berries, almonds, sweet, sour, a bit woody. Retronasal the sweetness is more upfront. Flavour is sweet & sour, fruity. Long finish. No oxidization, it might as well have been a 2019 bottle. Really enjoyable.

Bit oxidated, probably by the short cork... Bit still great!
