Shot glass showing dark red with two fingers of vinous red foam.
The nose shows moderately intense notes of ripe blackberries.
The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Moderately tart with mildly intense notes of blackberry. More blackberries on the finish. Blackberries seem somewhat unripe. There's also a bitter forwardness that becomes more apparent after the first few sips.

On tap at de Garde, pours a deep cherry red with a medium pink head. Aroma brings out deep berry pits, oak, farmhouse funk, and tart jamminess. Flavour is jammy as hell, with tart and jammy blackberries, oak, and funk. Beautifully constructed, with low-to-medium acidity. Excellent.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is fruit forward with strong berry notes that don't come across as jammy. Light herbal and leafy phenolic notes with a bit of a barnyard note as well. Light oak and hints of lemon. Pours a deep, dark purple with a medium sized, somewhat thin, pink head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers for just a bit before disappearing. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a light acidity with a medium light sweetness. Moderately strong berry notes with light oak and hints of citrus. Light herbal and grassy phenolic notes as well as some nice earthy, musty barnyard notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer. It has more of the musty, barnyard note than most de Garde beers and less acidity. There is a slight note in the finish that is a bit unpleasant, like when you chew on a berry seed, but its light.
