One of our very first beers with a recipe essentially unchanged ever since the first brew.
A classic, robust London style porter – with our own twist. Smooth and full-bodied, bursting with aromas of dark, bitter chocolate, and roasted coffee. Brewed with 100% British ingredients, East Kent Goldings Hops and an array of seven different malts.
While in stock and enjoyed throughout the year, it’s in the colder, wintery months when Railway Porter really hits the spot. Grab a pint, sit back, and enjoy.

330ml bottle - Pours a deep dark brown colour with an average sized mostly lasting foamy light tan head. Aroma is rich roasted malt, black coffee and bitter chocolate. Moderately sweet to sweet taste, roasted malt flavours, chocolate and bitter coffee with a drying roasted bitter finish. Very nice porter.

330ml bottle, bottled on 13th May 2020 and drank at home nine days later (22nd May 2020). Black bodied beer, wispy tanned topping. Malty nose, malty and bitter taste. Chocolate and coffee grains dominate the flavours in the maltiness. Fairly dry and bitter finish.

Fabulous Black Forest gateau aroma, pours near black with a foamy beige head - taste is some bitterness on top of rich, roasted malt, the dark fruit and chocolate flavours not as evident as in the aroma but all in all this is a gorgeous porter

Thuis uit een flesje, gestart in de tuin, later binnen. Bijna zwart, donkerrode gloed. Weinig schuim, lichtbruin. Zachte chocolade geur, niet te bitter. Meer bitterheid in de smaak, ook koffie. Volle stevige smaak, lijkt zwaarder dan de 4,8%.

Black with thin soapy head. Aroma and flavour have some burnt malts. Well balanced and easy to drink. Plenty of flavour.

Excellent dark beige foam on a blackish brown body, strong coffee and motor oil on the nose. Flavour is more strong coffee and motor oil with a smooth and oily finish. What's amazing is the low alcohol here, and it also makes me sad because this is light years ahead of any porter I've found in this corner of the world.

Tap at Queen Charlotte, London, UK. Pours dark, purple-ish, almost black, with very fine cream foam. Aroma is classic with intense coffee and some chocolate too. Body is fairly thick, with average carbonation. Taste is medium bitter with roastiness. Final is fairly long and roasty.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2019) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had creamy coffee and burnt malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium. Flavours were burnt malts, coffee, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A tasty but bit too burnt brew.
