One of our very first beers with a recipe essentially unchanged ever since the first brew.

A classic, robust London style porter – with our own twist. Smooth and full-bodied, bursting with aromas of dark, bitter chocolate, and roasted coffee. Brewed with 100% British ingredients, East Kent Goldings Hops and an array of seven different malts.

While in stock and enjoyed throughout the year, it’s in the colder, wintery months when Railway Porter really hits the spot. Grab a pint, sit back, and enjoy.

On Tap at the Southamptom Arms in London. Dark brown Black and a thin brief tan head. Lots of nicely roasted and toasted malts. Chocolaty and malty but with full rich flavors. Very nice.

Creamy beige head soon left a collar on a jet black still body. Nutty malt aroma . Medium bodied, smooth on the palate with a tingle on the back & clean finish. Smoky tastes of malt, dark spirits, demerara & bitter plum.

Keg at the Kings Arms Bethnal Green. It looked great in the glass, with a deep and dark colour and a very fine head. Lots of roasty toasty malts on the nose and in the flavour. A very good mouthfeel from all of the malt and lingering taste on the palate. The pint slipped down a treat, but one was enough because of the (pleasant) richness.

Cask. Really solid porter. Real porter, I can get behind it. Steady beige head. Sweet, oily, deeply to style. Classic. Drinks bigger than the 4.8% ABV would suggest.

330ml bottle. Pours almost black with a thick tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Taste is coffee, chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, moderately bitter hops, hint of fruit. Medium body and carbonation, slick mouthfeel, dryish finish. Solid porter though nothing outstanding.
