One of our very first beers with a recipe essentially unchanged ever since the first brew.
A classic, robust London style porter – with our own twist. Smooth and full-bodied, bursting with aromas of dark, bitter chocolate, and roasted coffee. Brewed with 100% British ingredients, East Kent Goldings Hops and an array of seven different malts.
While in stock and enjoyed throughout the year, it’s in the colder, wintery months when Railway Porter really hits the spot. Grab a pint, sit back, and enjoy.

Bottle at home, 28th January 17. Black, little carbonation. Aroma is cocoa, roasted malts. Taste is smooth, palate robust, for the extreme low ABV. Cocoa, bitter hops, coffee persist and linger to deliver a good porter.

Cask I think at a pub in Edinburgh. Black color. Simple, but good palate. Low carbonation, roasted malt and a little chocolate. Good porter, it not offering anything new.

Medium brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty earthy aroma with fruity mealy cocoa and toasted rice notes. Dryish fruity roasty earthy taste with cocoa and toasted rice notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy wooden cocoa aftertaste with mealy notes. Nice, drinkable, and a bit odd. (0.33l bottle, from some shop in Clerkenwell.)

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. An opaque peaty brown coloured pour with a close caramel coloured head; sweet, malty caramel aroma; quite lively in the mouth, with a rich, smooth, chocolaty taste, and a creamy texture; then some sweet coffee and light Kentish hops; but then a rather disappointingly thin finish with chocolate and caramel, and some earthy warmth from the hops. Good, but needs more finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; opaque brown pour with a big frothy light tan head, aroma has chocolate fudge and hints of coffee, taste has bitter coffee, chocolate, some dark fruits, almost.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern, London. Pours black with medium brownish head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, sweet, cocoa, hint of dark fruit. Medium bodied.

Bottle at the Railway, Streatham, London - (30/12/2015) black pour with tan head. Aroma and taste is medium roasted malty with notes of caramel, chocolate, coffee, and some hoppy backing in there, pretty decent.
