One of our very first beers with a recipe essentially unchanged ever since the first brew.
A classic, robust London style porter – with our own twist. Smooth and full-bodied, bursting with aromas of dark, bitter chocolate, and roasted coffee. Brewed with 100% British ingredients, East Kent Goldings Hops and an array of seven different malts.
While in stock and enjoyed throughout the year, it’s in the colder, wintery months when Railway Porter really hits the spot. Grab a pint, sit back, and enjoy.

Bottle at the Railway, Streatham, London - (30/12/2015) black pour with tan head. Aroma and taste is medium roasted malty with notes of caramel, chocolate, coffee, and some hoppy backing in there, pretty decent.

Keg at CBC Covent Garden. Impenetrable dark brown with a wee little khaki head. Mocha aroma with a hint of blackberry. Sweet taste with a fruity bitter underlying the sweetness. Silky finish. An easy-drinking porter.

Fra keg på Craft St Marys Axe 30 Nov 15. Delt med Rune. Svart. Lavt mokkafarget skum. Tynn lacing. Utmerket aroma av melkesjokolade. Smaken mest sjokolade med hint av lakris. Bra men lite variasjon.

Five points railway porter, cask @ GBBF. Deep black with a tan head the nose is roasty peppery coffee. Smooth med-light body with a great creamy coffee flavor. Wonderful stuff, one of my fav stouts at the fest with great balance.

At GBBF. Almost black porter with stable, light beige head; aroma of cocoa, black peppercorns, dried banana, toast, some floral hops. Restrained fruitiness, caramelly sweetishness quickly overcome by dry roasted bitterness but remaining gentle, bit thin body, roasted and florally hoppy bittering finish. Typical old school English porter (to the extent this style is ’recreatable’ from the past, that is). Thanks to Ster from the BeerTemple for the suggestion!
