A blend of northwest hops known for their tropical fruit and citrus characteristics, complimented by the addition of grapefruit peel, give this northwest IPA a peachy apricot nose that transitions to the bitterness of grapefruit peel in the finish. Citrus Mistress sets the tone for citrus inspired beers everywhere.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear orange-gold color with a medium thick off-white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Citrus, hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, grassy hops and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle from Pi-Bar. Noticeable grapefruit in a really bitter beer. Some other citric aromas, but the rest disappears in strong and crisp carbonation and the super bitter dryness. Well done though, this works.

Bottle from Bradley’s Cork [020516]
Orange, bubbly white head, hazy
Aroma of soft sweet malts, hint of caramel, no hops, soft caramelised orange
Taste of sweet pale malts, fairly malty, some zest, some bitter orange, alcohol noticeable, some very bitter but not fruity hops, nope
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, very bitter, lots of sweet malt. Finish is dry, long bitter linger, quite harsh, some alcohol
Overall - Old bottle, just harsh hop bitterness, no fruits, alcohol, sweet malts. It’s too old - 1/2 bottle thrown out

Bottle sampled @ MEUG 2016. Clear orange, creamy off-white head. Nose is too yeasty for me, clear milky yeast, some low onion, garlic & grapefruit hops, this should be very fresh. Taste is clear milky yeast upfront, oily hop, grapefruit & onion hop, light malts & clear yeast. Caramel & yeast body. Overly yeasty for me to fully work, it’s a shame. Okay-ish.

Amber orange color. Big citrus tangerine nose with big caramel whallop. Full body, with good bitterness throughout. Citrus notes just linger and linger at the end. Pretty decent though not outstanding IPA

hazy orange colour, medium sized, dense off-white head; aroma of tropical fruits, biscuits, some citruses, hints of peach and resiny notes; bittersweet taste with overripe tropical fruits, caramel and biscuits; excellent IPA!

Hop mistress on tap at Imazato. It pours an opaque orange-red with a pine and citrus aroma. Well balanced and classic west coast hoppy ipa Nice.

Bottled at Monk’s American Bar, Stockholm. Clear amber, small coarse head. Perfumy tangerine aroma. Sweet with light-medium body and clean mouthfeel. Papery malt, lychee and resin. Mid bitter finish. Sketchy.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a decent amount if citrus with a bit of sweetness and grapefruit underlying. Flavor has bitter and earthy citrus notes with a bread backbone.
