Amber in colour, which after all is the traditional appearance of historical white beers, it has a higher volume of alcohol (6%) than the white beers we are familiar with. Having been created locally (1991), this white beer has long since burst out beyond the banks of the Grande and Petite Honnelle rivers whose name it proudly bears. Yet, Blanche des Honnelles steers clear of the well-trodden paths taken by some beers. Its taste is surprising and in no way comparable to the other beverages of the same type that are currently on the market. While relatively discreet on the nose, its initial flavour yields to an intensely dry bitterness on a peppery background. There is no acidity in this three-cereal white beer (barley, wheat, oats). Its taste is invigorating.
In 2019 the new 1979 label was introduced to commemorate the 40th jubilee of the brewery.

Bottle. Hazy yellow color, big white head. Aroma, yeasty, fruity. Taste citrus, hops, with grapefruit finish. Nice beer.

Bottle: Golden, small creamy head, almost clear; orangey (a tinge of curacao??) and malty nose, mixed with lemon-peel and coriander; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied, creamy MF; curacoa-like finish with a light sweetish-sourish aftertaste. Quite complex, pleasant Belgisch Weizen......

750 mL bottle from Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville, NC. Pours a very hazy peach color with a moderate creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Large floating particles. Aroma of peach, apple, citrus caramel, bread, spice. Taste is bready caramel predominantly with some butterscotch, apple and dry citrus. Light spices in the finish along with muted hops. Smooth, assertively carbonated and medium bodied.

pours orange with loads and loads of yeast sediments and particles. as i opened the beer it foamed up, and a lot of the sediment rose to the top. small white head. yellow fruity aroma, also quite dry. flavor is fresh fruity, dry, alc can be tasted, peach, citrus, indeed like a very powerfull witbier. i wonder why rocs beers always have SO much sediment. it’s insane. anyway, definetly one of the best witbier i’ve tasted.

Bottle. Look: Super hazy orange body with a white head. Smell: Spices, honey. Typical wit smell. Taste: Big spicy taste. Belgian yeast. Short taste. Overall: Medium bodied. Fairly good, but boring.

0.75 l bottle from beershop.hr. It poured a murky orange, brownish toned body with huge head. Lot of yeast particles, even in part poured from bottle’s top. Interesting aroma, not particularly strong or typical cloying, rather hoppy, herbal, salty, possible some american hops, with quite strange malt background. Orange or citrus fruity flavor with some malts besides. Some honey, even caramel here. Pretty full bodied, with long, bitterish and slightly sweetly cloying finish. Very nice wit and definitely different.

Hazy blond with tight disc of foam on top. Low carbonation. Quite a soft, sweet flavour with only a little citrus coming through in the finish.
