Amber in colour, which after all is the traditional appearance of historical white beers, it has a higher volume of alcohol (6%) than the white beers we are familiar with. Having been created locally (1991), this white beer has long since burst out beyond the banks of the Grande and Petite Honnelle rivers whose name it proudly bears. Yet, Blanche des Honnelles steers clear of the well-trodden paths taken by some beers. Its taste is surprising and in no way comparable to the other beverages of the same type that are currently on the market. While relatively discreet on the nose, its initial flavour yields to an intensely dry bitterness on a peppery background. There is no acidity in this three-cereal white beer (barley, wheat, oats). Its taste is invigorating.
In 2019 the new 1979 label was introduced to commemorate the 40th jubilee of the brewery.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Thin white head. Cloudy amber pour. Low carbonation. A good wit beer. Very pleasant.

Bottle at The Fiddler. Pours hazy golden amber with an off white head. Aroma of citrus, grain, malt and yeast. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter, a little peppery in the palate. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bottle - Orange, wheat and sweet yeast. Clear gold with a beige head. Wheat, coriander and a bit of booze. Rich mouthfeel but average flavour.

As with al brews of Abbaye des Rocs, this is no ordinary beer. The body is a witbier, but the brewers used some spices and three different grains to give this beer a unique flavor.

Bottle at Ölkiosken, Mosebacke. Clear darker golden with a large white head. Aroma and taste of citrus, yeast, grass, some wheat and alcohol. Easy to drink, an ok one.

Very decent for a stye I don’t usually adore. Pours orange with pillowy head and good lacing. Aroma of clove and banana with some candy malt. A little booze here as well. Soft carbonation. Bottle.

330mL bottle, pours a hazy golden blonde with a medium white head. Aroma is very light, with subtle notes of wheat and cereal malts - not a whole lot else. Flavour brings out some slightly sweet cereal malts, a little wheat, and light citrus. The cereal is the main note here, with a light-to-medium sweetness. Less citric and spiced than most Belgian wits. Very drinkable, but ultimately boring as almost every beer in this style is.
