Amber in colour, which after all is the traditional appearance of historical white beers, it has a higher volume of alcohol (6%) than the white beers we are familiar with. Having been created locally (1991), this white beer has long since burst out beyond the banks of the Grande and Petite Honnelle rivers whose name it proudly bears. Yet, Blanche des Honnelles steers clear of the well-trodden paths taken by some beers. Its taste is surprising and in no way comparable to the other beverages of the same type that are currently on the market. While relatively discreet on the nose, its initial flavour yields to an intensely dry bitterness on a peppery background. There is no acidity in this three-cereal white beer (barley, wheat, oats). Its taste is invigorating.

In 2019 the new 1979 label was introduced to commemorate the 40th jubilee of the brewery.

A bleary, brown-yellow beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma of wheat, lemon, spices, coriander, the fresh aroma. Taste of wheat, lemon, spices, coriander, typical brewer’s yeast, taste is excatly similar than aroma. Medium bodied, fresh and nice to drink. Quite nice wit, richer than normal but still fresh as it should be.

330 ml bottle. Pours an amber orange with large retentive head. Aromas of bananas, cereal, and cloves. Flavors of pepper, orange, light malt and banana with a hint of additional spice. Not overpowering as some Belgian Whites. Very nice.

7/V/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 20/V/13 (2012-472)

Clear orange beer, big aery white head, unstable, big bubbles forming, non adhesive. A clear wheat beer? Aroma: grains, little sweet, sour bread yeast or yeasty dough, some honey. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sour, pretty malty, unsubtle orange peel, little bitter, some fruity notes. Aftertaste: ripe fruits, sweet malts, bitter touch, more orange peel, some honey. Not what I would classify as a wheat beer, but it's not too bad.

Fresh aroma with citrus, floral notes and wheat. Flavour is refreshing with citrus, wheat, some coriander and hints of floral notes. Good wit, would work perfectly on summer.

33 cl. bottle @ Bier Circus: slightly hazy orange with a lovely serious foamy white head, smell is a touch sweeter & slightly fruitier than the general wit, touch sweet spices, coriander, orange peel, yeast, taste is bitter upfront, plenty of grains/bready malts mixed with yeast, touch phenol, leading into a serious coriander & spices finish, after a while, the aftertaste in your mouth turns to quite fruity for its kind, orange peel, slightly grainy, well carbonated & dry, original, not bad
