Inspired by Electric Avenue, the beating heart of Brixton, our lively IPA is an assault on the senses – much like its namesake. This beer is all about the interplay between malt and hop – the perfect harmony of sweet and bitter. Electric is assertive but perfectly balanced with a solid backbone that rolls into a lingering hoppy finish.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Cloudy golden colour, moderate white head. Strong hoppy aroma with some unfresh and stale notes, hints of solvent and chemical waste. The same stale and chemical notes in the otherwise massively hopped flavour. Disappointing.

Bottle at The Garabaldi, Northampton, Saturday 7th June 2014 with Bob & Bill Pours amber with a white filmy head. A jolly nice tingly IPA, appearance is also a little cloudy, citrussy but with a pleasant sweetness. Nice beer. A6 A3 T8 P4 Ov14 3.5

330ml bottle from Sourced Market, drunk on the train. Lots of juiciness bursting out of this with orange, lime and lemon but something just not quite right about the blend and texture.. possibly even a little cardboard in there?? I liked it, but just needs a bit of tweaking.

Bottle at the Harp, London on 5th March 2014. Credit to KARL for the share. Hazy amber with thin ring and film. Gorgeous tangerine and grapefruit aroma. Exquisite grapefruit in-mouth with smokiness. Zingy citrus finish with smoky bitterness. Slightly waxy and bodiful texture. Excellent!

Hazy amber beer, good white head. Palate is light and airy and slightly crisp. Hops are a little odd! There is a limey tang, a little floralness and then a skewed skunky flavour that isn’t quite soap but is getting there! Light finish. Passable. Just.

Bottle at home, 24th January 14. OK IPA, not enough hops, a little fizzy. Drinkable but forgettable

330ml bottle from Sourced, St. Pancras. Hazy amber pour, no real head. Good hop aroma, tropical fruit, orange and grapefruit. Taste had a surprisingly light bitterness, some caramel sweetness. Oily texture, slightly thin finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; cloudy amber pour with frothy off white head, phenolic aroma, tastes a bit artificial not at all balanced there’s some bitterness and some metallic, won’t stand out in what is already an excellent London brewing scene.

Bottle shared at Dadsgiving, from ABM (I think), 24/11/13. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is ladies armpit after a moderate cycle ride, bitter orange, light hop notes, perfume trace. Taste comprises earthy hops, orange pith, mandarin, steraw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy finish with subtle hop bitterness. Ok stuff but not a patch on other IPA’s coming out of the smoke these days!
