Malheur 10: rose-like, peachy aroma. Orangey, lemon-grass and lemon-curd, flavours. Rich, oily, honeyed, texture. Medium to full body. Big, orange-zest and a hint of bitter sourness.

Malheur 10 is een speciaal blond degustatiebier en heeft letterlijk en zonnegele kleur en een rozenachtig perzikaroma met verwijzingen naar kruidige sinaasappel- en citroenschillen. Het bier heeft een rijke honingtextuur, olieachtig ook, het heeft behoorlijk wat body en een bitterachtige zure toets in de warme afdronk.

0,33L bottle, Pours hazy golden with huge white head. The head stays. Aroma is fresh fruits, tart, bitterness, spices, yeast, hops. Flavor is herbal, sweet, spices, sour, malt, yeast. Finish is dry bitter with some alcohol. Overall: decent brew.

Heavy tripel with stable, snow white, irregular head and pure golden blonde colour with vivid sparkling. Aroma of apple peel, grass, star fruit, honey, young creamy cheese, eau de vie, lime, mint and white grapes. Fresh fruity taste with dry ’citrusness’, strong carbo, nicely rounded with sweetish and lightly caramelly malts, spicy accents, long and dry finish with drying effect from the CO2, appetizing grassy hop bitterness and some gin-like alcohol almost becoming astringent. Another Malheur excelling in decency.

Botella de 33 cl de el c. Ingles tomada por ultima vez en junio de 2000. Con fecha de cons pref para 30-11-2001. millenium 2000. Esta ya esta mejor que la numero 4 cuerpo medio con 10 vol bastante notables. Se podría repetir.

Bottle @ Poechennellekelder, Brussels. Pours hazy dark yellow with a white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, spice, light lemon. Flavor is sweet, malty, yeast, spice, bitter grassy hops, light citrus, alcohol. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, some alcohol warmth. 310714

Draught @ ’t Antwaerps Bierhuiske. Pours slightly hazy light amber with small white head. Clear aroma of malt and hops, with notes of yeast and caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with notes of flowers, malt and yeast. Somewhat spucy finish with an estery note to it. Nice.

Bottle at home. Over a year old. The colour is slightly hazy dark straw and has a big, white, creamy head. Very carbonated. Aroma of alcohol, Belgian yeast, citrus and spices. Pleasant. The flavour is similar with warming alcohol, spices and Belgian yeast. Rich and slick mouth feel, and has a light to medium bitterness. A rich and tasteful Belgian strong ale, but the alcohol shines through and makes it a bit unbalanced.

Pours a hazy glowing gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is spicy, sweet malts, yeast, light hops. Medium, well-carbonated body. Flavor has nice sweet tones intertwined with plenty of spicy hop notes and a light yeasty finish. Quite refreshing for 10%. Did a great job washing down some summer bratwursts.
