Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Hansen & Zita for this bottle! Clear yellowish golden with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma of fresh fruits and alcohol. Fruity and spicy flavor, a bit sweetish, finishes drier with some bitterness and alcohol. Medium-bodied and over-carbonated.

i recognize the sweetness in this from beers i definatly dont like ( kasteelbier and stuff) with the diffrence that this is drinkable. but i still dont like it. the sweetness is less than the others, but its the onley taste you’ve got ...

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head that laces well. Aroma is malty, yeasty, slightly sweet. Flavor is medium sweet malty, strong yeast presence, honey, coriander.

33 cl. bottle @ ’t Waagstuk // this one is the Strong Belgian Blond Ale made De Landtsheer which is one of the bigger Belgian semi-craft breweries around, save for a couple beers, haven’t really tried a lot of stuff from them // pours a banana orange with a creamy, solid white head that leaves thick lacing, quite ad-looking beer, definitely neat // smell is heavy on fruity Belgian yeast with quite a bit of esters, some banana & spices // as far as flavour is concerned, I am getting a lot banana here, apricot, peach but the main dominating trademark of this beer are definitely bitter Belgian esters, solid fruity Belgian yeast running underneath, finish is definitely also quite standard with some fruity bitterness with a decent amount of floral bitterness thrown in there (EU hops, I suppose) & lots of spices, the fruitiness is definitely there, certainly from the yeast side but in the end the esters & touch floral bitterness in the finish are more defining for this beer // body is quite easily drinkable, lightly creamy & on the higher end of average carbonation // a solid enough standard representation of the style, it may not blow your socks of but it is solid & follows the style guidelines well enough to the extent that you know more or less exactly what it is that you are getting into

Cork and caged 75cl bottle, best before 10th Jan 2010, drank 29th Oct 2009. I have been keeping this for over a year and wasn’t expecting it to gush out as soon as I opened the bottle, luckily I had two glasses ready ( Judas and Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulips). Out it came, no stopping it, bringing with it all the sediment, it looked like one of those snow shaking bubble things you used to see at the seaside. Bits floating everywhere within a dirty orange fluid. A clean white head sat on top of the whirling snow storm. I waited for the sediment to settle, it took a long time, because of its high carbonisation the suspended yeast particles refused to sink with any haste. Plenty of time to sniff in the aroma then! Yeast, hops and a floral smell, sweet citrus fruits (oranges mostly?). When I did get my lips to it the alcohol was the first thing that I tasted, it is right too the fore and ’in your face’ as some would say. Sweet and sour flavours arrived later. Too strong for me and I had a terrible headache the following morning, this wasn’t the only beer that night, but I am sure it did the damage.

330 ml bottle via Beer Planet, Pours a slightly hazy golden/straw color with lots of carbonation and medium head. Foral aroma with hops and spice. Similar in taste with bitter finish. Crisp.

Light orange golden colour, white head. Sweet malty aroma, alcoholic, light hoppy. Sweet malty flavour, light honey touches. Finish alcoholic with light lingering hops. Not bad, but not quite as outspoken as I seem to remember it.
