Drake’s Black Robusto Porter is a deep, dark “Robust Porter,” a beer style known for being darker, fuller-bodied, and higher in alcohol by volume than a standard Brown Porter. Our Black Robusto goes down smoothly with flavors of bittersweet chocolate an slight roast from Crystal and Chocolate malt. A touch of spicy, herbal hop character from Willamette hops balance out the finish. Enjoy a pint with dark, lingering satisfaction.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with orange glints and a 3 finger creamy tan head. Aroma is quite chocolate. Near full bodied. Flavor is bitter, chocolate, burnt malt and a little coffee. It finishes dry and pretty bitter. Not a smooth, soft drink. A slighty rugged and harsh drink. Has lots of character. Surely one of the better porters.

On tap at Drake’s Barrel House pouring up deep coffee darkness with thin amber edges and light tan head that leaves behind spotty lacing. The aroma is pulsing and forcing up bold notes of burnt malts, dark roasted maltiness and dark roasted coffee. The taste is just as bold with dark roasted coffee, dark roasted malts, some burnt malts and then slippery sweet malts hidden away here and there. It ends pretty dry with lingering coffee, dark roasted malts and burnt malts. Big Robusto that I think would be a bit better with some earthiness too.

On tap at the Pizza Port Session Ale Fest. Pours with a hazy brown body and a disappearing, tan head. Aroma of coffee, leather, chocolate and tobacco. Taste is coffee, leather and earthy notes. Dry and a bit thin.
