A Rotterdam Pale Ale dryhopped with the American hops Citra & Mosaic. Karel is fruity in the nose with passion fruit, grapefruit, and a hint of hay and citrus in the background. The refreshing fruity flavors end in a slightly bitter and thirst-quenching aftertaste.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een oranje geel bier met een dunne schuimkraag. Het heeft een fruitige zoete geur. De smaak begint zoet, fruitig, passievrucht met een bittere afdronk.

Bottle from Pivoteka. Slightly hazy orange-golden body, with a beige, thick, lasting head. Remarkably complex, layered aroma for an APA, surprised me. Started with sweet dough, caramel and tangerine, evolved over time into tropical fruit, along with herbal touches, light yeastiness moves it away from perfection. The malts and the hops are always dueling, with one side beating the other depending on the sip. The taste is then surprisingly light and lean, distinctly citric, backed with lean sweet dough, ending in a peppery, piercing (though not in a bad way) bitterness. The yeasty notes (kinda nutty though, but definitely not from the malts) show up here and there again, this is probably great fresh. Too much residual yeast here. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but it probably ate away further, making the already lean beer even leaner, while adding notes that detract, making it seem homebrewish in the end. Like very good homebrew, but still homebrew. Would like to try this on tap though, the recipe is very good, that much is obvious.

Oranjegeel bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is fris fruitig en licht bitter hoppig. Inderdaad en spoor van passievrucht te bespeuren. Etiket geeft 4.9% aan.
