0.5 l bottle. It poured dark brown to black body with small brown head. Fine, but pretty weak caramel and roasted sugar aroma. Very fine flavor, coffee dominating with some nice dark malt characteristics such as toffee and dark fruits. Some stale barn notes, hay or manure but nothing nearly as unpleasant as it might sound. Medium to even fuller body with nice, long licorice and bitterish coffee finish. Slightly acidic both in flavor and aftertaste. Pretty nice porter, surely liked this one!

Cask-conditioned at the Greyhound, Bridport 19/04/10. Dark brown with hints of red and a contrasting cream coloured head. Aroma of caramel, milk chocolate and nuts. Sweet flavours of fudge, cherries, more chocolate and a touch of roastiness. Finish was on the bitter side. Enjoyable, if lacking a bit of character.

Cask @ Counting House, JDW. Dark red - brownish colour. Aroma of slight roasted malts. Flavour of roasted malts, glue, hint of dark fruits. Tastes like a poorly done mild ale.

Bottle, 5.1%. The aroma starts off dusty and creamy, but also has some rough roasted barley and a little sourness. Seemingly clear dark brown colour. Big stable light brown head. The flavour is mild and creamy at first, gets a little sour hint to give it some edge. Creamy mouthfeel. Perhaps a little lactic in the finish. Very harmonious.

500 ml bottle sampled@RBNAG 2009, Cardinal. Dark, reddish brown body with a thin off-white head. Aroma is light, refreshing fruity with smooth roast malt. Flavor is smooth malty, light burnt, fruity, a hint of coffee and balanced bitter. Medium body, easy to drink and very pleasant without being outstanding.

Bottle 50cl.Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate to light heavy toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090803]

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber with a medium creamy light tan head that lasts awhile leaving behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet roasted malt with chocholate and fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a roasted malt flavor with a nice bitter finish. A good porter from St Peters.

Biggish beige shiny head. Barely translucent dark red body. Sugary caramelly aroma with wooden licorice notes, very harmonic. Dry-sweetish milky licorice taste with roasty resiny notes. Thinnish body. Mild mouthfeel. Dry watery metallic roasty licorice aftertaste. Quite nice, but slightly watery. Could use a bit more body. Should probably be served at room temperature for best results. (0.5l bottle, Olympen, Oslo.)
