Pale Moon is a drinkable pale ale that has a distinctive hop aroma without the lingering aftertaste. This Belgian-Style Pale Ale is brewed with European malts, Cascade hops, and a touch of hibiscus and orange peel. These ingredients create a rich copper colored ale with a flavor complexity that one would expect from the Blue Moon Brewing Company.

Bottle. Belgian yeast is there. Mild hop aroma and flavor, with some citrus. The flavor is ok, but far too light. And the same is true of the palate.

12 oz. bottle. Heavy caramel notes, with citrus and resin hops, and candy sugar. Very sweet, and mildly bitter. Light to medium body, a little astringent, and silky. Overall, this is overly sweet and lacks complexity.

Bottle. Dusty grass/citrus hops and light nondescript malt aroma. Clear copper with a moderate ivory head, moderate lacing. Biscuit malt and light spicy hops flavor. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. Not what I think of as a Belgian, but not horrible.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a slightly hazy reddish-amber color with a medium sized fizzy off-white head that fades quickly. Aroma of floral notes, earthy notes, citrus, toasted malts. The taste is caramel, earthy notes, citrus, floral notes, bitter hops. Thin bodied. Decent beer.

From the bottle. Meh, it’s about the same as regular Blue Moon. I suppose I’ll give them some minute credit for creating something a bit better than I expected. A bit over-carbonated, but I guess that’s to be expected from a huge macro brew.

Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and peppery yeast. Light body with a mildly bitter hops character and notes of wheat, malt and yeast. The finish is short with a slightly peppery aftertaste. Pretty average all around.

Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with warm cap that has good retention and lacing. Darker malts with notes of molasses and spices. Typical Blue Moon watery mouthfeel. Bread malts with again, notes of molasses. Another easy-going brew Blue Moon that has a small touch of Belgian (but not much).

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a Trappist glass. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a minimal bit of white head. Aroma of citrus hops, wheat and a little orange. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Taste of orange pulp, candied sugar and very light hops, but at least the hops are noticeable. Medium bodied with a somewhat creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long sweet finish. Overall, it’s not bad. A lot sweeter than I though it would be or like, but still drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a one-finger off-white collapsing head. Aroma is peppery, bready, banana, caramel, wheaty. Taste is bittersweet and a touch sour. The orange peel is faint but there. Highly carbonated and light-bodied. Not too bad for Blue Moon.
