Bottle - pours dark brown white head - nose/taste of caramel, fruits, toffee and apple - medium body

Probably the best American made Belgian I've had. After a couple years the flavours have very noticeably become quite mild, but all around good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle pours with an amber body that supports a weak tan head. The aroma offers up fruit right away with grape jam followed closely by some prune and date notes. Behind the fruitiness I get chocolate and a sliver of caramel malts. The taste begins with a rush of flavors ranging from semi bright grape fruitiness, smooth sweet malts, chocolate malts, molasses, prunes, raisins and dates. It picks up thin juicy and somewhat tart grape flavors midway and into the finish. Yet another fun beer from Hebrew.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in spring 2014. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of apple, cherry, plum, red grape, caramel, honey, candi sugar, toasted bread, light nuttiness, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and solid complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, dark malt, and grape juice notes; with solid strength. Taste of apple, cherry, plum, red grape, caramel, honey, candi sugar, toasted bread, light nuttiness, pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of apple, cherry, plum, red grape, caramel, honey, candi sugar, toasted bread, light nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and solid complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, dark/bready malt, and grape juice flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Dubbel hybrid style. Good balance and solid complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, dark/bready malt, and grape juice flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

The appearance was a hazy burnt brown color with a thin white head that dissipated immediately.
The smell had a light sweet to sour grape up front and then a light cherry entering in with a cooked chocolate malt. Different, interesting.
The taste was mainly malty sweet with a light sour to the aftertaste. There was a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and was good.
Overall, decent dubbel and different. It works, it’s just different.

22oz bottle pours a clear caramel amber with a ring of white head. Nose has raisin, booze, caramel, fig, a little chicory. Flavor is sweet, caramel, cream soda, raisin, malt, a little bubblegum, red grape, a little pumpernickel. Full bodied, boozy finish.

Boozy mess. Pours amber with good head and lacing. Some light raisin but mostly booze. Bottle from Florida somewhere.
