Bottled. Black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, cognac, some toffee and mild chocolaty tones with some vanilla and wood too. Flavour is consisting of pretty much the same elements and ending up quite much on the sweet side, but still at a highly drinkable level.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a thin dark head. Lots of roasted coffee notes, some smoke and tobacco, cocoa, some nutty notes, dark chocolate, dark fruits, lots of sweet cognac notes. Taste is freaking fantastic. Lots of espresso notes, dark fruits, just a perfect slight smoke, dark chocolate, some slighty salty licorice notes, slight vanilla and sweet cognac notes. Palate is just beyond smooth. Damn.

250ml bottle. Pours black and noticeably thick with a small dark brown head that dissipates to lacing over a few minutes. Chocolate, fortified wine, plum, vanilla, oak, chocolate fudge, Christmas pudding, brandy, touch of booze in the finish. Full thick body that coats the tongue, like chocolate milk level body. Beautiful combination of barrel and beer. Huge flavour but there's still a surprising subtlety and elegance to it. Fantastic.

Bodney Towers Bottleshare. Thanks to Dan. Opaque black - brown beer, small dark tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry and with reasonable fine carbonation. Spicy soft dark malts with good dark chocolate. Tangy dark fruits underneath. Trace of vanilla. Very mild Cognac. Smooth finish leaves a chocolate linger. Nice.
