Refrigerated 8.5 oz. brown bottle poured into a snifter. Pours opaque black with very small light brown head. Little lacing, very thick body, low carbonation, and cognac aroma. Taste is cognac, salty, soy sauce, roasty, some alcohol. and dry finish with hints of ash. Heavy, hard to drink, and expected way better.

very dark coffe-like colour, minimal dark brown head; aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, some coffee and significant amount of cognac; taste of roasted coffe and malt, dark chocolate and cognac again; very complex, very good imperial stout - it would be one of my favourite if I were a stout-fan.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks Armin! Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Roasty dark chocolate, coffee, burnt/smoky, a bit boozy, grape/plum aroma with a touch of graham crackers. Rich, thick dark chocolate, burnt malty, somewhat smoky, a bit boozy, very rich flavor. Fun to drink in small amounts.

(Bottle, 0.25 l, from Drink Shop, Tallinn, 20130724) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small, dense and light brown. Aroma had wood, chocolate, roasted malts, hint of vanilla and a little bit of coffee. Palate was full bodied and oily with lowish carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, smoke, wood, cognac and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody, roasty and bitter. A nice complex beer. I haven’t tasted the plain George! so I cannot compare it with this one. Here the strong flavours mixed together in a way that I enjoyed drinking this.
