Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Label states this was brewed at Nogne. Anyhow... Oily black. Thin, lasting, brown head. Aroma is Old Jamaica chocolate. Leather. Tobacco. Wood smoke. Vanilla ice cream. Taste is cocoa sweet first off. Black fruit semi sweetness. Dried vine fruit, fusty dryness. There’s even a light saltiness in there. A bitter, roasty finish evens everything up. I’m having a good beer night, tonight!

Bottle 25 cl. Pours an opaque black with a small, light brown head - very thick and syrupy. Rich - almost fat - body. Sweet, vanillaish roast with some oxidized barrel notes - even if they are hard to detect as Cognac. Warming finish. Delish. 030414

250ml bottle courtesy of Lonick. Pours like crude oil. Tiny tan head. Aromas are boozy, apples, brandy, dark chocolate, eyes water. Taste is big and sweet, some burn, more dark chocolate. Good, but quite a contrast to the Speedway, which, at a similar strength was a damn sight smoother drinking.

Oily black colour, very thick texture. Low carbonation. Overwhelming aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits and cognac. Very impressive, this is just perfect!

Bottle delivered to my front door by Brewdog on-line shop. Pitch black pour with a meek tan head. Nose had notes of dark fruit, booze, malts, cognac and dark choc. Similar characteristics present in the taste alongside some roast and unfolding bitterness. Full bodied and smooth. Classy offering which does everything right.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a small dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of slightly sweet black chocolate notes with some light Cognac notes and light roasted notes. Taste is a great mix between some nice creamy black chocolate notes with some Cognac notes and some light roasted malt notes with well-rounded finish. Body is full with nice creamy body and good carbonation with no alcohol being easily discernible. Very fine used of barrel-aging to smoothed out any rough edges of base beer.

Odense Beer & Ball Saturday - Genua - Torino. Jet black with a small brown head. Sweet malty aroma of chocolate, licorice and soy sauce, with hints of ham and ink... Very sweet and roasted malty flavour with that umami character of soy and ham, some licorice and spice
