250 ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop.
Pitch black body, with a tiny, dark brown, creamy head, that disappears quickly.
Full, complex aroma of cognac, barrel, coffee, melting dark chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, booze.
Taste isn’t less amazing, with dark chocolate, roasty dry coffee, nuts, sweet dark fruits, smoke, cognac, wood.
Thick, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation and it finishes dry, roasty, alcoholic and with long-lasting, smooth barrel notes.

Really delicious! Complex, heavy and filling, so that this small quarter liter bottle is just enough. Overall an amazing, challenging beer, but there are even some better Imperial Stouts by Mikkeller in my opinion.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a dark brown with tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong wood, cognac, roast. Thin mouthfeel with nice booze, dark chocolate, wood, sweetness from cognac. Very impressive.

Chriso May 2014 tasting. Black beer lasting tan head. Not much cognac barrel ageing has really dried the beer out. Chocolate sponge.

10 ounce draft pour at Frisco Taphouse in a goblet. Pours black with a finger of tan head. Aromas of nutty notes, cognac, dark chocolate, roast, coffee. Tastes of roast, light cognac, nutty notes, toffee, dark chocolate. Full body with a dry finish. Low carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Good but it could use more barrel character, doesn’t taste all that different from the non-barrel aged George! to me.

Bottle. It pours an oily, black body under a minimal sized tan head. Just a thin layer of bubbles actually. It’s quite alcoholic on the nose, with loads of molasses, dark chocolate and coffee. Cocoa and a faint touch of prunes. The flavor has quite a lot of sweetness, with dark chocolate, coffee and toast. Lasting finish with roasted malts and coffee. Some chocolate and cocoa. Really pleasant this one, needs some time to finish this one, but it’s worth it. 140509
