A combination of two types of sweet caramel malt, lightly roasted biscuit malt, and victory malt lend depth, richness and flavor.
We also add highly roasted chocolate malt giving the beer its wonderful reddish-brown color. Magnum hops give the Working Man’s Brown Ale a clean and balanced bitterness. Mt. Hood hops are added at the end of the boil for excellent flavor and aroma.

12 oz bottle from Beer of the Month Club. Clear light brown, tan head. Sweet, caramel and a little nutty. Grainy notes as well. Decent.

Bottle: Poured with a huge off brown head that kept coming, orange brown in color otherwise. Aroma is weeds and grass with some bark. Taste is gritty grassy and malt.

12oz bottle pours deep clear copper with white head. The aroma has roasted malts, some caramel as well as notes of dark fruity esters mixing with chocolate, actually lots of chocolate. The taste nice fairly rich and loaded up with chocolate rimmed with notes of caramel maltiness. By midway some roasty malts join in as well as a mild background of dark fruitiness. Nice tasting beer put I think some notes pull it a bit out of style (which isn’t a big deal to me). Enjoyed it.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a clear brown color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty caramel aroma with some nutty hints. Sweetish malty nutty flavor with some hoppy hints. Sweetish malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Poured red-brown with foamy white head.. Faint sugary aroma that grew more pronounced ad the beer warmed. A light body, a bit of breadiness and a small hoppy finish.

Bottle. Nice gritty roasted malt aroma. Rich mahogany color with an off-white head that laced to the edges. Medium bodied. Creamy smooth. Lightly carbonated. Dark caramel malt with floral hop (my guess). It’s really a great brown. The finish is decently dry, and the bitter is about right to balance the results. It’s just amazing how this brewery nails so many good, if not great, products.

Bottle: Very true brown color with a smaller tan head. A little bubbly. Nose of malt and earthiness. Rich body with tastes of caramel, roasted malt, and some hops bitter in the tail. Even a hint of cocoa. A nice brown ale.

Bottle Pours a dark slightly hazy redish brown with a nice full fluffy light tan head. This settles after only a min to leave rather coarse spotty lacing. Aroma is very nutty, sweet and chocolately. Flavor is a bit harsh and bitter. Plenty of hops, nutty here too and slightly sweet. Feel is thin. Trailer is a lingering bitter.
