A very dark beer with a herbal aroma and hints of toasted hops.
A smooth flavour with distinctive coffee overtones
Pirinat is a bottom fermentation double malt dark beer obtained with the “Vienna” and “Black” malts.
This beer is suitable for accompanying pasta with strong sauces, shellfish, mousses and chocolate confectionery.

Courtesy of SHIG. Pours deep mahogany with tan head. The aroma has some dusty roasted malts, mild burnt malts and chocolate. The taste has a pleasing variety of dark malts like chocolate, caramel, dark roast and some burnt malts. This is nice and smooth with a soft mouth feel here and there. I get lingering sweet chocolate and some caramel malts hanging around for a while.

Bottle: Poured a deep black with a thin light brown head. The aroma was light with roasted malt and slight coffee bean. Taste was thick of coffee bean, bitter leafs, and some soft roasted malt. I would be more convinced of this being a stout then a schwarz.

Bottle at IBF 2009, Milan
Dark color. Light aroma of roasted malt. Lean body, with some dark caramel flavor, medium-low bitterness. Simple final. Drinkable but simple.
