The Abstrakt series continues to tantalise your taste buds with the latest member of the family, AB:11.

AB:11 is an imperial black barley wine brewed with ginger, black raspberries and chipotle peppers. A 12.8% rollercoaster of ginger zestiness, chipotle smokiness all bound together with dark berry tartness and the decadent residual body of a black barley wine.

Like all Abstrakt beers, AB:11 pushes the boundaries and challenges the perception of what beer is and what it can be. Brewed only once, AB:11 is excellent for drinking now, but also designed to be cellared for future enjoyment.

Medium beige head. Opaque black body goes deep dark hazy brown at edge. Herbal dried fruit aroma with meaty cloves notes. Dry-sweet intensely spicy cardamom and cinnamon taste with chocolatey laquer and tropical wood notes. Full-bodied. Soft, yet quite hot and spicy mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish spicy cardamom and lacquer aftertaste with alcoholic cardamom, cloves and lavender notes. Nice. Highly drinkable, harmonic, and interesting, even if it is a bit high in alcohol. (0.375l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)
