Bottle picked up in a bottle shop in Brugge, Belgium a few weeks back. A dark brown coloured pour with a small off white head on top. Sweet, chocolate, malt aroma. Tastes similar, slightly sweet, dark fruit, some chocolate, malty, caramel. Rich tasting Belgian ale.

Brown colour with a beige head with medium lasting. Aroma has notes of toasted malts, sweet notes, mild dry fruits and spices. Flavor is quite similar as aroma with toffee and toasted malts, some caramel, moderate spiced and nutty. The final is light bittery on palate with medium duration.

A colablack beer with a big, dense and beige head. The nose is roasted and liquirice, some fruits, flowers, lemon and spices. Taste is roasted, coffee, liquirice, herbs and spices. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation. The unique and fresh beer, interesting.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. After the lethal Triple IPA flavours of Magma the bar had been raised but I guess I wasn’t expecting Troubadour to take this path with Obscura. It is excellent of course, swirling together Stout like malts and Brown Ale textures to produce roasted, bitter chocolate tastes and an alcoholic strength that commands you take time to savour. Great stuff then, as usual.

Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown with a slight tan head that fades the aroma is of chocOlate and the taste ishas nice chocolate overtones that resonate on the palate

From a 33 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a dark cola brown with a thick tan head. Malty nose. Flavors of caramel, butterscotch, and stone fruits. Tart, bitter finish.

bottle at bierhuyske pours dark brown, good white head smell is sweet ( caramel malrts ? ) and some chocolate rather high carbo but very nice taste! like a gentle stout ! chocolate, burnt malts ( especialy that comes forward pretty good ) has that bitterness to it ( not even sure if it is either hops or coffee) nice and complex but a too light mouthfeel for me

Bottle from Voldby Koebmandsgaard - pours dark brown with a persistent beige head. Lots of malts and fruit, with nuances of toffee, caramel, and chocolate. Great beer this.

Bottle. Opaque dark brown liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of raw sugar, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dried fruit, bubblegum and bread. Taste is dry to very light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, raw sugar and bread. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite nice but more roasted than most Belgian ales.

Bottle at The Fiddler, Den Haag. Poured deep cloudy mahogany with a frothy off-white head. The aroma is yeasty and a little alcoholic, leading to a medium bitter flavour, with lots of roasted malt, coffee, liqourice and red berry fruit on the super rich flavourful palate. I really enjoyed this!
