Bottle - Pear, apple peel and minty herbal notes. Clearish gold with a small white head. Tart and herbal with some lime zest notes. Minty and a touch of grass with a light acidic and dry finish.

Bottle shared at a tasting, De Troch label. Hazy yellow, no head. Aroma of funk, pepper, lemon, leather. The taste is tart lemon, lacto, mild funk. Medium bodied, lingering tartness.

Poured from a 375 ml bottle. Aroma has a medium light herbal, barnyard funk with some light citrus and stone fruit. Hints of malt with some light acidity. Light oak. Pours a slightly hazy, gold with a medium large, white head that quickly disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a moderate acidity. Acidity is lactic with some citrus and a hint of acetic acid. Some light tropical fruit notes including pineapple. Light oak notes. A hint of an herbal quality. Medium light funk. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty decent geuze. Some nice fruit notes with lighter funk and oak. Balanced acidity. Better than I was expecting.

Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is very strange, old moldy potatoe cellar, boiled vegetables, wet hay, weeds, minerals, paper. Taste is sour-ish dry, soda powder, sorrel, citrus acid, minerals, oak, old moldy cellar, hay. Medium bitterness, sour-ish dry mouthfeel. Crap!

12.7 oz bottle labeled as De Troch Oude Gueuze (2014). Poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Hazy golden yellow with 1.5 fingers of off-white head. Aromas of barnyard funk, lemons, tart acidic notes. Tastes of barnyard funk, tart acidic notes, lemons, a bit of tropical fruit, light floral notes. Medium-light body with a very dry finish.

375ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.fr. Pours hazy gold with thin minimal head. Quite an original gueuze, presenting raw coxes apples and dusty pear tree orchard flavours against an oude gueuze sourness. Works exceptionally well. Lovely stuff.

Pours clear gold into a tumbler. White head with little retention recedes to nothing. Dusty grape, hay and sour summer fruit aromas. Tart with a hint of caramel upfront turning quickly to grapefruit pith and lemon through the lasting finish.

Bottle from Capitol Beer. Pours hazy copper with a white head. Aroma of lightly funky grape. Med body. Flavor is grape like in soda. Pleasant but disappointing in a way. Little if any funk. It’s not dry.
