Bacchus Cherry Beer is brewed using Bacchus Flemish Old Brown as a base. This cherry beer surprises with a slight touch of caramel from the roasted malt. Bacchus Cherry Beer offers a beautiful balance between the aromas of ripe cherries and the sweet and sour of the base beer.

Nose is cherry, candy sugar, swizzle cherry sherbert, more sugar, slight yeast, sugar. And some sugar. It looks red! Tastes of sugar with some cherry cough syrup on top. And of sugar. The finish is a little dryer with slightly sour note. A very, very silly beer much beloved by my partner.

BB 07.2015. Pours dark red with nice pink head. It has aroma of dark cherries, sweetness, phenols. Taste is dark cherries, rather sweet and sour, with hints of bitterness. Lively carbonation. Overall: nice beer, not very complex, but very easy to drink.

I liked the raspberry beer from Bacchus, but this one was a little too sweet. Seems like they added too some artificial sweetners.

Draught at BBF13. Deep red colour. Sweet flavour of cherry and marzipan. Has a little acidity, but is definitely on the sweet side.

Just found this old tasting note - bottle from Carter’s Bar about 18 months ago. Appears a dark red translucent colour. The nose has the expected cherries and perhaps also some raspberries. The taste is more of the same but a little sweet. The palate is all fine until the over-sweet finish.

375ml bottle. Pours a ruby-red brown colour, foamy pink tinged head and aroma is candied sweet cherry, abit medicinal. Taste is very sweet cherry, marzipan, almond, tangy, slightly sour, with an underlying biscuity light bitterness. Juicy mouth feel, medium bodied, well carbonated, fairly clean finish. Quite OK.
